VOCATIONAL PLACEMENT SPECIALIST

Gila Employment and Special Training is a Department within the Community Services Division of Gila County, which is a Division that is dedicated to raising the standard of living and improve the overall quality of life for our community.

The Program began in 1975 and was founded on the principle of Acceptance.  Establishing community acceptance of the individuals with barriers to employment is and always will be our priority.

Funding for our program is received from the Arizona Department of Economic Security Vocational Rehabilitation and the Division of Developmental Disabilities.

Gila Employment and Special Training in coordination with Arizona Rehabilitation Services Administration assists our communitys disabled population in attaining their individual vocational goals. 

Direct Service Staff provide services, which include emotional support as well as transportation, on the job training, counseling, and other supportive services to assist the client in becoming self-sufficient.

GEST MISSION STATEMENT:

To provide employment Services along with Daily Living Skills to Disabled Clients in a manner, which supports and enhances self-sufficiency, self esteem, mutual respect, value and dignity.

GEST GOAL:

The goal of our Program is to provide the very best employment and training services to those individuals who have barriers to employment.
